The Hampstead School District oversees a wide range of information about students. The district manages personally identifiable information (PII) about students in accordance with the federal laws known as FERPA and COPPA. The Hampstead School District will not share personally identifiable information with third party software providers unless there is a valid educational interest for students. The SAU41 School District has implemented a best practice protocol for reviewing new online resources for potential use within the District. Only online websites and tools that are deemed appropriate in meeting instructional goals, as well as adhere to legal requirements protecting student privacy and data will be approved for use by students. More information on the tools we use, that have been vetted for Hampstead School District can be found here: This list below will be amended and updated as additional websites and tools are vetted. In some cases, parents may receive a separate permission request from a student’s teacher to use an approved online application or tool with their student.

Instructional staff who want to use a digital resource not previously approved by the District must complete a request so that our Data Governance committee can review the tool. All requests will be evaluated in a timely basis by the Data Governance Committee which meets monthly. Websites, apps and other software tools must be approved by the SDPC (Student Data Privacy Consortium) prior to use with students.
