The boys lacrosse team traveled to Auburn on Friday and played a very talented team. Despite the boys best efforts they were handed their first loss of the season. Landon O once again stood on his head in net and kept the boys in the game. Hunter E received the Ground Ball Award for his play at LSM and defense while Devan D received the Game Ball Award for his efforts winning faceoffs. I know the boys will be looking forward to redeeming themselves against them in the playoffs.

It was an educational evening filled with STEM activities, yoga, poetry, wishes, and a guest arborist. It was a beautiful way to culminate a great book and our school-wide reading experience. The Hawks Boys Lacrosse team added another win to their record yesterday with 10 different players on the score sheet. Not only did Jake G have a hat trick but also earned himself the game ball for his outstanding performance. Cam S added 2 to the scoreboard and received the Ground Ball Award for his aggressive play. Cameron D and Gunnar B split the game in net and held their opponent to only one goal. Ray M and Josh O played tight defense and thwarted any offensive rushes. Regardless of the high temperature the boys kept their cool and played another outstanding game. Well done!

Boys lacrosse first game was a 12-2 victory. The Hawks offensive was lead by Callum E who netted his first hat trick of the season however he was only one of four players to have a multi-goal game. All three goalies had strong performances with Landon O having a first half shut out. The Game Ball was presented to Colson L for his tenacious defense and effort winning every loose ball. All of the boys contributed and played an outstanding game in a day that will go down in the schools record books.

Students in preschool through grade four had the opportunity to investigate soil last week with the week long visit of the Soil Tent. The Soil Tent is a traveling STEAM educational exhibit that combines hands-on GLOBE science activities centered around the layers of the soil and a ten-by-ten pop-up tent with murals depicting students’ observations of their local soil ecosystems. The tent was developed by the NH GLOBE Team, the USDA Forest Service, and the Northern Arts Alliance. Thank you to Mrs. Wisecarver for facilitating the Soil Tent at HCS again this year!
