In an exhilarating kickoff to the boys soccer season, the team showcased their dominance with a resounding 5-0 victory over their opponents. The offense was on fire, with standout performances from Finn J, Brody F, Bryce M, and Beckett Y, each contributing to the scoreboard and setting the tone for the season ahead. Defensively, the team was equally impressive, with Carter B, Matteo M, and Brody L forming a solid wall that kept the opposing team at bay. Goalkeepers Jacob G and Jaxon C exhibited exceptional skill, making crucial saves that preserved the shutout. With this powerful start, the team is poised for an exciting season ahead!

Our girls soccer team began their title defense with a 6-1 win over Sanborn yesterday to begin their season. They look to continue the strong start with 3 games next week as they take on Auburn on the road next Monday. Good luck and go Hawks!

Our HMS library media specialist has pulled together a variety of summer reading resources on the HMS library website (https://sites.google.com/a/hampsteadschools.net/libraryhms/home). 📚 In addition to reading fliers, there is an interactive summer reading website (https://padlet.com/connorsd2/summer-reading-2024-vkz1ffasuriys2wr). where potential comments are reviewed by Mrs. Connors prior to being added to the website. 📚
If you have a rising freshman, there is a reading flier tailored to this age. All titles on the rising freshmen flier are available in the Hampstead Public Library's collection. 📚
Happy reading! 📚

Thursday our 5th graders re-enacted a full day of Medieval Times! They saw Knights sparring, in full armor and with medieval weapons. They met Joni the unicorn and ended with a Medieval Banquet! HUZZA!!!!!

Congratulations Keelyn K. and Katie F., our two New England League of Middle Schools Scholar Leader winners! You make us proud!

Zack and Joey received their Ray Flaherty Scholarships last week at HMS. Congratulations gentlemen!

The boys hawks lacrosse team traveled to Hudson yesterday to compete in the Tri-County Division 2 Championship game against a very competitive PMA team. The boys played their hearts out but unfortunately fell short losing 9-8. Landon O stood on his head in net keeping the Hawks in the game. Myles B and Quinn B both had hat tricks while Cam S scored two. The boys proudly finished second, in their inaugural season at HMS which is an incredible feat. Hold your heads high boys, you earned it.

In conjunction with the Grade 5 Medieval and Middle Ages unit, fifth graders were able to practice their archery in our soccer field this morning. Lucy Morris, from NESA (New England School of Archery) spent time this morning, teaching the kids how to use a bow and arrow. The kids all participated and were able to shoot one or two arrows at given targets. All of the kids did a great job! There were many bullseyes hit! 🎯 Thank you Lucy!

The softball team had a tough loss in the Semi finals against Auburn. Kendall L smacked a home run and Lydia U had two singles while Charlise L had two amazing catches in the outfield. Thank you girls for an amazing season !
